Your favorite Master Note Buyer – Straightforward, Honest, Fair…
It’s the beginning of the year and time for those New Year’s Resolutions again. This is a time of the year to start or restart working towards your goals and resolutions you made last year but didn’t quite accomplish. It the time of year that you and your business can come alive again! Have you fallen into a rut? Climb out Has your note business stagnated? Get it moving! It is the perfect time to recharge your batteries, revive your spirit and reexamine your bottom line.
Many words with the prefix “re” apply to the New Year: that’s because, according to the dictionary, “re” means again or anew. It is time to once again take a chance for a fresh start – in our personal and our business lives. So let’s talk a little about how to refresh ourselves and our note businesses and make the most of the New Year.
Much of our lives are dominated by routine, often lulling us into boredom. When you first started your business, were you challenged, engaged, excited? Now do you feel like you’re just going through the motions? If so, look for new opportunities, new challenges (without jeopardizing your core business) that can once again reawaken and excite you. In your personal life, look for new adventures, travel and hobbies, and explore new ideas.
With all of our responsibilities, it’s easy for our reserves of energy and motivation to run low. We have to be a source of replenishing and refilling our own tanks. How? Seek new sources of inspiration: Read books and magazines, take classes, go to networking events and trade shows and meet new people.
Do you ever think about the word “recreation”? Play is part of re-creating yourself, restoring your body, reenergizing your soul. Have fun! Go outside and play, maybe go bass fishing! J
Let’s be honest. Many things in our lives and our businesses are going well. Let’s no throw those out in a desire to restart our batteries but rather repeat and repairwhat good already exists. Call and say hello to an investor, associate or old friend or take them to lunch. Other things may just need a little fixing – relationships, a good bookkeeping system or a website. The New Year is a great time for mending as well as starting.
We all know that we are in tough economic times. It is a phrase that has become a permanent part of our language. I believe it is also a phrase that prevents us from climbing out of a negative situation. We are focused on tough economic times, not answers and solutions. What you give attention to grows. One thing I have learned through my own life thus far that the only way to move through adversity is to try and maintain a strong, positive mental attitude, regardless. It is not a sign of weakness. A positive attitude is as strong as steel. It will consistently lead you to the answers and solutions you need to move through challenging situations.
We have been conditioned to believe that adversity is negative. Overcoming adverse situations is how we gain strength and character. It forces us to get on top of the circumstances and not lie down. Adversity reminds us that we are stronger than we could ever imagine. It’s a mindset that actually helps us to flip a situation upside down.
And so it is with life. Adversity and challenges are simply showing you a better way to achieve your goals and dreams. Quit resisting. Robert Schuller says, “Tough times never last, but tough people do.” Your attitude creates the conditions in your life. Relax and be positive, regardless!
Revive means to bring to life again. Examine the ways that you can bring yourself to a full life once again. What are the things and people you love? What excites you? What are your goals, hopes and dreams? Allow those to live again. After all it’s the New Year!
