Your favorite Master Note Buyer – Straightforward, Honest, Fair…
Happy New Year! It’s that time again. Time to think ahead into the next 12 months and make those New Year’s resolutions. Have you made yours yet? Are you going to use the standard lose a few pounds or work out more? Have you thought about making a few for your Cash Flow business? If you haven’t let me share with you one of my annual New Year resolutions that might help you get you and your business on the right track this year. It is a resolution that you can’t break because it is so easy to do and it only takes about one minute a day.
First of all, what is a resolution? It is defined in the dictionary as a formal statement expressing the opinion, will or intent of a body or persons. The will or intent of a person is the important part. As many of you might know, one of the books that I highly recommend everybody read is Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. I have read it every year at least once a year since I was about eighteen to keep myself motivated and on the right track to success and wealth.
Along with the thirteen steps to riches that Napoleon Hill outlines, he suggests making a definite goal statement and reading it twice daily, once in the morning just after arising and once at night just before you go to sleep. As you are reading it you need to see and feel and believe that you can achieve your goal. You need to see yourself with your goal already accomplished and imagine what you will feel like when you have achieved it. What do I have on my goal statement? I am glad you asked. Following is my exact goal statement for this New Year 2002:
By the first day of January 2003, I will have in my possession $100,000, which will come to me in various amounts from time to time during the interim. In return for this money I will give the most efficient service of which I am capable. Rendering the fullest possible quantity and best possible quality of service in the capacity of a Note Broker. I believe that I will have this money in my possession. My faith is so strong that I can now see this money before my eyes, I can touch it with my hands. It is now awaiting transfer to me at the time and in the proportion that I deliver the service I intend to render in return for it. I am awaiting a plan by which to accumulate this money and I will follow that plan when it is received.
I have this statement taped to the inside of my bathroom door. That way every morning I will see and read it and every night before I go to bed I will see and read it again. After a few weeks of reading it every day, twice a day, you will be able to memorize it and recite it whenever you need to remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing. I find it is helpful to read the statement aloud and with meaning to really get the full effect. You will need to personalize this statement to your own specific desires and aspirations but it will give you a template of what your goal statement should reflect.
You will notice that I don’t just say, “I want to make lots of money”. Your goal needs to be specific and tangible. You will also notice that I don’t say I am going to improve my marketing efforts, advertise more often, follow up with potential note sellers more often, or anything else that has to do with improving my business. The reason you won’t write those things down on your goal statement is that all of those exercises and items are things that you will do to reach your goal but they are not your ultimate goal. You will write them down on a separate list of things that need to be done this week or this month to improve your business and your goal statement will keep you motivated to get all of those things done.
That’s it! Your New Year’s Resolution is to make a goal statement like the one above and read it twice daily. It is so easy to do you just can’t break it. It takes less than 35 seconds to read your goal statement. Can you commit to reading your goal statement twice a day, every day for the entire year? I hope so. If you can’t commit to a little over a minute a day, how can you commit to making your business a success? Make this year your best year ever! I wish you all the best of luck and much prosperity in the year to come. Happy New Year!
